A Beautiful Village Which Is Just 6 km Away From Manali- Jagatsukh


Manali is a very popular tourist spot of India. There are different big and small picturesque locations in and around Manali. Jagatsukh is one amongst them. Jagatsukh was the former capital of Manali. The place is situated just 6 km away from Manali. It is the biggest village of the Kullu district. The Gaurishankar temple is its main fame to claim. Built in the Shikara style of architecture, the Shiva temple is an important pilgrimage centre of the region. Nestled between the Himalayan mountains and situated at a height of 2050 m, Jagatsukh is beautiful. The warm hospitality and friendly people of the village will surprise you. The calm and tranquil place with the spectacular landscape, it is a perfect place for Honeymoon. Few kilometres away from the busy roads of Manali, Jagatsukh is a peaceful place. How to Reach:

Kullu is the nearest Aiport from the village. Regular flights from Delhi and Chandigarh connect Kullu. From Kullu, you will get taxis and cabs to reach the village. From Ambala Cantonment railway station, you will get vehicles to Jagatsukh. The road from Manali to Jagatsukh is a memorable one. You can hire a taxi or regular buses ply from Manali. It takes only 20 mins to reach Jagatsukh. The beautiful scenery while travelling towards Jagatsukh is a spectacular one. May to October is the favourable time to explore the village. It takes a maximum of 3 hours to explore the region and you can visit the place while travelling to Naggar as well.

Well, the Gaurishankar temple is the main attraction of the place. This ancient temple was constructed in the 8th century and it is believed to be a sacred one. Every year a good crowd of devotees visits the temple to worship Lord Shiva. Near the temple is located another small and old Sharvati Devi Temple.  Vaishno Mandir, Chatet Mandir, and Buddhist Monastery are some of the places to visit in Jagatsukh.

Manali valley is down the village and the East is occupied by big mountains of Deo Tibba. The unspoilt beauty of  the village calls for a great stay. Tourism and apple cultivation are the main sources of income. The annual Chacholi Jatra Festival is a local attraction and is celebrated wholeheartedly. The local handicrafts are also displayed in this festival. You can bring back some local stuff from the village market. Jagatsukh, a mountain village has its own charm. The amazing scenic view and the environment are enough to bring you back again. Though it is a village but it is bestowed with all the virtues to make your holiday a perfect one.
