With big money, holidays, cars and much more to be won competitions are often worth taking a bit of time to enter, some people even earn a full time living from them. A lot of websites, newspapers and TV channels have completely free competitions that you can enter. Television program competitions usually have the biggest prizes and most can be entered by viewers for no cost, competitions make TV shows like X-factor, The Chase and This Morning more interactive and fun to watch.
In this post I will detail a couple of UK TV shows that are currently holding competitions and tell you how you can enter them.
This Morning Competition
Of all the UK TV shows that are holding competitions at the moment I think the This Morning Competition has to have the biggest prize. This Morning was first broadcast in 1988 and has changed a lot over the years, I think the show has improved massively since the early days, female presenter Holly Willoughby is in my opinion the biggest improvement any TV show could ever make. Hollys arguments with Katie Price are always entertaining. The shows competition prizes have really grown in value over the years too, the current prize being offered in the This Morning competition is £250,000, what would you do if you won a quarter of a million???? Imagine what that much money would buy, you could get a very comfortable family home in most parts of the country for £250,000.
To enter the This Morning competitions you usually need to answer a question but sometimes the show just holds a simple prize draw.
Dickinson’s Real Deal
Dickinson’s Real Deal was first broadcast in 2006, it is an antiques program hosted by former Lovejoy actor, antiques expert and fan of fake tan David Dickinson. Dickinson’s Real Deal is broadcasted on weekday afternoons and enables people to get the best deals on the antiques and collectables, if David thinks the dealers are not being far he will interupt and tell the sellers to try and get more out of the dealer or go to auction.
The current Dickinson’s Real Deal competition has a cash prize of £3000 and can be entered by asking a fairly simple question about Greek mythology.
If you’re in the UK and interested in entering free competitions ITV shows seem to hold them most frequently, ITV competitions usually have the best prizes but it is often worth checking other mediums. The BBC sometimes hold competitions as does Discovery Channel, most tabloid Newspapers and Magazines. Radio shows usually have daily phone in, pop quiz type competitions but the prizes aren’t always that large. When entering any competitions I always like to look for free methods to enter and I try to avoid premium rate numbers, etc. itvcompetitions.co.uk is a site that lists competitions from ITV and various other sources. The site tells you how to enter and whether or not there is a free way to do so, they also tell you if there is a question to be answered and what they think the answer could be.
